Prepare to be swept away by a talented debut author with a passionate, powerful story to tell.
They meet on a beach. . . . Abby Davis isn’t wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she’s busy chasing around four little ones. And Matt McKinney isn’t looking for fun—he’s a Navy SEAL, a grown man with a long list of missions . . . and fallen brothers.
They only have a week. . . . Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve. Matt’s been sidelined by a combat injury, and haunted by the best friend he lost and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL—focused and dedicated. This leaves no time for what he’s always wanted: a family.
But a week is all it takes. . . . Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul. And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget. Something utterly, completely worth falling for.

Rating 5 of 5 Hearts
Matt McKinney owned my heart from the first chapter. He obviously has a heart of gold and wants to do the best for everyone he loves. The fact that he wasn’t just looking for a hook-up made him all the more appealing for me.
Maybe it’s the fact that I’m a mom of four and can’t imagine what my life would be like if something happened to my husband. And it definitely wouldn’t hurt if a sexy man like Matt took an interest in me and my kids.
Abby is a handling life as best she can as a now single and pregnant mom with four kids. Though being a single parent isn’t something she had to adapt much to. Her husband wasn’t really around a lot for her or the kids when he was alive. The beach vacation they are on is just to help the kids enjoy the last of summer before they return to school.
Matt is on the same beach because he was supposed to be a wingman for his cousin though the woman his cousin chose for him doesn’t interest Matt at all. I read a review by someone who said that Matt could never find Abby appealing when there was an age difference, she was pregnant and already had 4 kids. I beg to differ.
Matt is looking to settle down. He’s lived his life for his country and now wants the chance to live the life his brothers have with a wife and kids of his own. He doesn’t even care that Abby’s kids aren’t really his. They love him and he loves them. It’s the perfect relationship…
Well, not really perfect. Abby has trust issues. Matt has his last promise and best friend’s death hanging over his head. There is just enough drama to keep the reader in the story, but the happiness wins out, too.
I can’t wait to read more of the McKinney brothers stories!
