TWELVE (More #3) by T.M. Franklin
The action-packed conclusion to the MORE Trilogy is here!
Ava Michaels is gifted, powerful, and — whether she likes it or not — part of a plot to take over the world.
It’s only been a few months since Ava Michaels discovered she has ties to an ancient people living in the shadows of the human world, despite their superior gifts and abilities. A select few don’t like hiding, however, and think it’s time to take control.
Now Ava’s caught up in a conspiracy in the works before she was even born. In fact, her birth was an integral part of the plan. She’s one of the Twelve, the most powerful Race ever created, and they were created for a purpose.
Turns out, Ava doesn’t like being told what to do.
All she wants is to start a new life with her boyfriend, Caleb Foster, but before they can even think about that, they must join forces with former enemies, seek out some powerful new friends, and figure out what exactly the Twelve, and their power-hungry leader, are up to.
Then, they have to find a way to stop them.

T.M. Franklin started out her career writing non-fiction in a television newsroom. Graduating with a B.A. in Communications specializing in broadcast journalism and production, she worked for nine years as a major market television news producer, and garnered two regional Emmy Awards, before she resigned to be a full-time mom and part-time freelance writer. Her first published novel, MORE, was born during National Novel Writing month, a challenge to write a novel in thirty days. MORE was well-received, being selected as a finalist in the 2013 Kindle Book Review Best Indie Book Awards, as well as winning the Suspense/Thriller division of the Blogger Book Fair Reader’s Choice Awards.
In addition to MORE and its sequel, The Guardians, Franklin penned the Amazon best-selling short stories A Piece of Cake and Window, which also won a Blogger Book Fair Reader’s Choice Award for Short Story/Fantasy. Her new YA romance, How to Get Ainsley Bishop to Fall in Love with You, is Franklin’s first love story without a paranormal or fantasy element, although she believes love is the best kind of magic.
TWELVE, the final installment in the MORE Trilogy will be released October 9, 2014.

I give this book three and a half hearts.
Author T.M. Franklin did not waist anytime throwing us right into the action! From the moment this story starts we are right there with her characters battling it out! This fun fantasy world is filled with magic and surprises that keeps us on our toes as her lead heroine Ava Michaels learns about her true family and why she was created. Throughout the story we learn and discover new talented family members Ava Michaels never knew she had.
Ava Michaels has to struggle with what she was designed to do. Ava does not want to harm anyone. Not the Race she was born into or the average person. She believes that protecting humanity is more important than her own wellbeing. She must try to stop her true creator and dreaded father Elias Borre. Ava struggles with getting stronger by the moment and defying her creator in the process. Her body is designed for Borre’s army.
Ava’s talent is beyond anything the Race has ever seen and if it is any indication of what all the TWELVE are like they know that they are in serious trouble if Elias Borre plan happens.
Caleb Foster is the ying to Ava’s yang. He is her other half and does everything he can to protect his girl. I absolutely loved Caleb throughout this book. He may just be part of the Race and not the elite twelve but he is strong and very smart when it came to helping Ava with going up against her father and siblings. Caleb's trust in Ava was something I admired about him. Even when others doubted her he never did.
Throughout this book Ava has to gain the trust of many while she proves her loyalty to bring down Borre. She truly does just want humanity to be left alone and no one in the future to dictate it.
The fun characters and world that T.M. Franklin describes in the book keep you engaged throughout the book. I am all about cool powers and what ifs and I enjoyed reading about the extraordinary gifts the elite TWELVE brought to the table.
Can your fans find you at an upcoming event? If so, please provide the details of the event or events.
Yes – I have a couple of events coming up. I’ll be in the TWCS booth at the Texas Book Festival in Austin on October 25th and 26th. Then, I’ll be at a booth with other Northwest Authors at the Christmas in Seattle Gift & Gourmet Food Show at the Washington State Convention Center November 14th-16th.
Do you listen to music while you write? If so, is it different with each book or series?
I don’t. I’ve tried, but it distracts me too much. I can, however, have the TV on while I write. (In fact, it’s on right now.) After years of working in television, I got used to having multiple TVs on, and it becomes white noise. It’s actually easier for me to focus with that noise than to write in absolute silence.
How did you become interested in writing this genre?
I’ve always enjoyed reading stories that made you wonder “what if?” Stories with romance, and also a little bit of magic in them. So, it made sense that I would write stories like that. I chose YA mainly because of my son – I wanted to be able to share my writing with him. He reads a lot of fantasy books and has pre-read all three books of the trilogy for me. He’s very honest about what works and what doesn’t.
Where did the idea of your current book come from?
The trilogy was inspired in part by my own childhood. When I was a kid, I loved to imagine that I had special powers, that I could fly or move things with my mind if I only concentrated hard enough. Of course, I outgrew that, but then I thought, what if it was true? What if someone did have those powers, but they were hidden for some reason? That’s where Ava came from. She used to think she was special… and through the trilogy, she learns that she was actually right.
What is your favorite thing you learned while doing the research for this book?
That having mismatched eyes is called heterochromia. J
Is there a message you hope your reader grasps?
The theme through the trilogy – and especially in this last book – is that we can all be heroes. We all have something special to offer and if we work together, we can accomplish amazing things. Also, that where you come from does not have to dictate the person you’ll be. You have a choice.
What is your next writing adventure?
I’m so excited to part of an anthology with five other amazing authors – Beth Bolden, Angel Lawson, Kira Gold, Amanda Weaver, and Bev Elle. It’s called Frequent Flyers and all of the stories are inspired by air travel – planes, airports, etc. The stories are all very different, but all have a romantic element. It’s scheduled to come out next month.
When can I start stalking you for details on your next book release?
Ha ha! Stalk away – you can keep me motivated! J Well, the next release will be an anthology next month. After that, I’m not sure. I’m working on a new book, but I’m not sure just yet when it will come out.
Can you give me a little something from your next writing project to tease your fans with?
Okay, here’s a little bit from my story in the anthology. It’s called Unscheduled Departure.
It seemed like forever that I sat there staring at the screen, the words Private Number mocking me, and the electronic music harsh and grating in the silence. Everything in me ached to answer - to try again - but I knew Lindsay was right. I couldn't answer. Not this time.
So I waited until the music cut out and the little voicemail icon popped onto the screen. Then, with trembling fingers, I pressed it.
"You have one unheard message."
I held my breath, waiting.
"Hi, it's me . . . "
Before I heard another word, I forced myself to let out my breath slowly, calmly, and press the 9 button.
"Message saved."
Proof.
Who designed your cover?
I designed my own cover, as I did for the other two books in the trilogy.
Is it hard for you to decide on the cover?
Sometimes it is, but I usually create the cover (or several cover possibilities) early on when plotting the book. The visual element helps to inspire me and makes it easier to picture the story in my mind.
