Author Spotlight: The River Walk Collection - Tiffany Huegele
I first met Tiffany back in November when she was planning Al Daltrey's blog tour for A Condo with Two Views. She asked me if I would be interested in an ARC. Little did I know what that one ARC would bring with it a family. Tiffany introduced me to The Daltrey Divas and the rest is history! I do not know what I would do without these ladies.
Tiffany has a heart of gold. She would do anything for her extended family her in the Indie world. She truly is one of the most humble people I have ever met. I feel lucky to know her. Thank god for AL DALTREY writing sexy books or I would have never met my girl Tiffany.
What was your first thought when Al Daltrey approached you about the River Walk Collection?
My very first thought? ‘Has he been drinking?’ {Laughs} He is entertaining when he drinks! I am so glad you realized he was serious! You two make a great writing team. Though, I am not surprised.
Honestly we talked about this project way back and he mentioned something about me being one of the contributors and I thought Um… okay I’ll be an alternate and surely he will find someone to fill my slot. That didn’t happen so I charged forward choosing to accept the challenge. He spent many a day reassuring me though and I’m glad he did. Me too! Al knows how to spot talent.
Did you know the author’s involved with the River Walk Collection before the project?
I knew most of them on some level yes. Lena was probably my most recent acquaintance out of all of them and I’m so happy to have met her! They are all amazing.
How was it working with everyone on the project? You all seem like such a fun group.
Every single author is a perfect fit to the group. We all love to have fun and crack up. When Al is trying to be serious and get something done we usually turn the conversation upside down and always end up on the perverted side. {Snorts} I can picture him try to keep you all serious. Poor guy. He never stood a chance.
Tell us a fun memory you will take with you after this project is complete.
My favorite memory from this project was working with all the authors on their covers.
The main cover wasn’t even an image we were really considering but I played with it and suddenly it came to life! With all the covers, when all the pieces clicked together and we felt like it was just right, it felt so good. Also the first time I sent Al a draft of what I had written. I wanted to throw up I was so nervous having him read my work. I always had respect for authors releasing their hard work for the world to see but now having lived just a taste of it gives me so much more. I must say, I have the utmost respect for you on your cover and teaser making skills. I am always in awe of your work.
Can you give us a little tease of your story in the River Walk Collection?
Three Wishes
I inhale deeply, close my eyes, and blow out the candle sitting atop the most elaborate confection I have ever seen. The smell of the warm black forest cake with fresh mascarpone cream and brandied cherries assaults all my senses. I peer up at him, hesitantly. Those blue eyes are smiling at me before it even reaches his lips, and I feel like giggling but think better of it. I break eye contact before I completely ruin the moment. As long as I can remember, he’s had this power over me that cannot be described. It just is. I can command a boardroom in my sleep, but when he assumes that posture I’m completely his. My body betrays me and willingly succumbs to this hulk of a man. I will do anything for him to keep looking at me exactly like that.
Can I really follow through on this? The mixture of desire welling low within me, and the wetness of my panties tells me I definitely want to.
“You want this” he says, in that low rumble that tells me he’s affected by this just as much as I am. No shit. His body language tells me all I need to know even though I still haven’t made full eye contact. How long will he let me avoid the inevitable spark that will ignite when I finally look up and drink in his spell? The game is up. The cards are on the table and I’ve declared ‘all in’. This is going to be the ride of a lifetime, quite literally I hope.
I scoop the still warm cake into my mouth making sure to wrap my lips seductively around the fork. I snake my tongue out to prevent a single crumb from falling. I’m startled with a low groan from across the table. Oh shit, he knows my game. Four years into our marriage, I shouldn’t be so surprised he caught on so quickly. He can read me like cliff notes to my favorite novel. The jig is up as I peer at him through hooded lids, my lips still wrapped around the warm fork.
“Amelia darling, I’m prepared to dish out a birthday spanking if that’s what you’re looking for.”
{Shudders with all that goodness right there} Man! Way to get us all worked up! Amelia is a tease and then Johnnie offers up birthday spankings!!
Will you continue your story after River Walk is complete?
I haven’t really put much thought into that, but anything is a possibility. {Gives you my most pathetic puppy eyes} Please!
What was the hardest part of your story if there was one?
There are a couple of flashbacks that didn’t seem to flow well. I was intimidated at the thought of re-working it scared I would make it worse, but once I had the ah-ha moment of how to do it, it all worked perfectly.
Is there anything you would like to tell your readers?
Just that I hope you enjoy it. It’s pure fiction, not to be taken too seriously. Be gentle. This is my first experience writing. LOL. Girl! They will love Three Wishes!!!
What was your inspiration that started your writing career?
I wouldn’t say that I have a writing career. Prior to this I had never had any desire to write. I do however, love to support authors in any way I can. Maybe one day I will find a voice that needs to be put on paper, who knows.
What book influenced you the most growing up?
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Name someone other than a family who has been a huge supporter during your writing career.
My best friend, cheerleader, mentor, therapist, pilot, business partner and all around amazing man, Al Daltrey. If he hadn’t pushed me and told me I could do this I wouldn’t have been a part of this wonderful experience.
How did you become interested in writing this genre?
If I ever do continue writing I will probably always write erotica of some nature. It’s what I enjoy reading so for me I would want to write what I enjoy.
What is one question you have always wanted to be asked during an interview but never have been.
What’s it like being the PA and business partner for New York Times Bestselling Author Al Daltrey? Great question! You must sill the beans!! {Makes a note to message you to tell me}
What is your writing style? Do you outline or just write it as it comes to you and let the story unfold as you write?
I used a short five sentence outline. Aside from that I just wrote.
How has becoming an author changed you?
I said this before, just in general increases my already very high respect for authors and everything it takes to put a story out there.
When you write do you listen to music? If so, what music was your muse for this story?
I prefer the quiet. {Zips my lips so you will start writing}
Can you let us in on what your next project will be?
I’m hoping Al will start on a series. What we’ve talked about so far sounds awesome! I’m also working on the cover for the next installment of The Enough Series by Alexis Riddley titled Enough Time. I love working with her! I hope to do more covers for more amazing authors. I’ll continue to blog and just have fun!
I said it once and I will say it again, you are the cover queen!! I cannot wait to see Enough Time finished cover! I love Alexis too!! And what you and Al come up with for his next project. {Makes a note to ask him about it.}
Coke or Pepsi- Coke
Steak or Chicken- Steak
Lace or Cotton- Cotton
Black or White- Black
Morning or Evening- Evening
Chicken or Egg- Egg
Rope or Whip- Rope
Fast or Slow- Slow
Family first always. If I'm not with my family or at work, you can probably find me behind the screen of my Kindle. I love to escape into the world of a book!
Three Wishes is my first crack at writing. Prior to being invited to be a part of the River Walk Collection I had never even so much as entertained the thought of writing anything really. It was great fun! Who knows what the future holds in that!
My passion for the Indie community pulses through my veins. Even if I never write another solitary word to be published I will still be a part of this amazing community. Put me behind the scenes blogging, promoting, creating covers and teasers and I am a happy girl!
Huge thanks to Author Al Daltrey for having me as part of this collection. Thanks for your encouragement along the way as well as your friendship. To all the other authors I had the pleasure of working with during this project- Thank You!
