Author Spotlight & Interview: The River Walk Collection - Melissa Asleson
Before the River Walk collection, I had not met Melissa Aslenson. After conversing with her and getting to know her through the project, she is another author I will be quietly be stalking. Her story had me chuckling and fanning myself as I turned the pages.
What was your first thought when Al Daltrey approached you about
the River Walk Collection?
Really? Me?! I honestly thought he felt sorry for me.
Did you know the author’s involved with the River Walk Collection
before the project?
I only knew Jen and Al.
How was
it working with everyone on the project? You all seem like such a fun group.
They’re a blast. I think we all have a similar, sexy, humor!
Tell us a fun memory you will take with you after this project is
complete.
Talking about sex scenes with Al, then having causal conversations
with his lovely wife Jaycee. Also, I tried and failed to make Jen’s teasers!
Tiffany is the queen of the universe with everything book publicity.
Can you give us a little tease of your story in the River Walk
Collection?
There are some good one-liners. {Eyes the other others and snorts} Oh, I can only imagine.
Will you continue your story after River Walk is complete?
Most likely not, I have lots of WIP’s.
What was the hardest part of your story if there was one?
Following Al’s outline. I rebel against rules! {glances over at Al and smirks}
Is there
anything you would like to tell your readers?
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I always love getting to know author's. Hearing them talk about their career and what brought them to where they are today fascinates me. Here are my 'Nosy Nancy' questions Melissa was so kind to answer.
What was your inspiration that
started your writing career?
During a family tragedy I had to
channel my thoughts and writing was an escape.
What book influenced you the most
growing up?
I always remember ‘A Wrinkle in
Time.’
Name someone other than a family who
has been a huge supporter during your writing career.
My former co-worker, Gail and my
childhood friend Amanda.
How did you become interested in
writing this genre?
I love reading erotica.
What is your writing style? Do you
outline or just write it as it comes to you and let the story unfold as you
write?
*Cringe* It’s horrible, I have to get
my thoughts out. So random thoughts, words and phrases come and I just start
typing then have to cut and paste the mess together.
How has becoming an author changed
you?
I love signing my name!
Can your fangirl/boy find you anywhere this year?
Maybe by lo-jack or hacking my phone.
Maybe by lo-jack or hacking my phone.
When you write do you listen to music? If so, what music was your
muse for this story?
No! I can’t sing and write!
How much research goes into your stories?
A lot, I love the real aspect of locations and landmarks.
Can you let us in on what your next project will be?
Nope, it’s an idea that I haven’t seen or heard of and I want to pioneer it. {eyes you} Then you won't mind me stalking you. LOL. I am really intrigued now!
