Wow! I loved this book for so many reasons! This book is filled so much goodness, I seriously do not know where I want to start. Let’s all hope I can keep my rambles to a minimum.
In my opinion this books is J. Daniels best book yet! It owned me from start to finish. I devoured this big bad boy. It was like crack and I could not get enough of it. I was in love with Reed and Beth while getting my fix on the other character I hold dear to my heart. When I hit about ninety percent on my kindle, I wanted to cry cause I knew the story was almost over.
Reed Tennyson and Beth Davis both have been through the wringer when it comes to relationships. Reed was broken by the woman he thought he would marry while Beth was treated like she did not matter.
The chemistry Beth and Reed shared was great to read. I loved the playful banter and hotter than hell dirty talk these two gave each other. Reed has one filthy mouth and mind and Beth is all too willing to drive him wild completing his fantasies.

From the moment you started reading you are captivated by Reed’s cocky attitude and demeanor. He knows he is HOT and uses it to get all the sex he wants. There is only two things he does not do. He does not kiss on the lips or date. So, when Beth plants the best kiss of his life against his greedy lips this man does not know what to do.
He was pissed and let her know it. The only problem is he was fantasizing about it the moment it was over.
This is where the story really picks up. I loved being in Reed’s head while he was thinking that kiss over and over. Man his filthy thoughts were HOT. He craved Beth and did not know how to handle or process what he was feeling.
And who to better discuss his problems with than his best friend Tessa! I was rolling when she asked if he needed a pint of Ben and Jerry’s and confused the crap out of him. Poor Reed. The she also found out he had run into his ex and was pissed he didn’t tell her.
“What?” Tessa shoves against my shoulder. Christ, these two are violent when they’re hungry.
“Nothing’s wrong with me. I just didn’t feel like talking about it.”
“Girl code, Reed.” Tessa crosses her arms with a pout, leaning back against the window to fully face me. She makes a soft tsk sound. “I’m disappointed in you.”
The fuck?
Now let’s talk about our saucy sweet girl Beth. I seriously wanted to hug this poor girl. She had been through so much in her twenty-two years.
Even dealing with what all she had she was still caring, sweet, and compassionate towards others. She would do anything for anyone. Including Reed. If that meant helping his deal with is evil ex, she was willing to do it.
She knew from that very first kiss she was meant to be with Reed. She felt something she had never felt before. She was willing to place that thought to the side and just be his friend. When Beth did what she thought was best for her. I understood what she did. She made Reed realize he needed his girl. My heart ached for them both. But then I was swoon like a fool.
I loved how with just one look Beth could render Reed speechless. And when she did her own filthy talking he came unglued.
One of my favorite scenes in the book is towards the end when they meet everyone at a nightclub and go dancing. I will not tell you what happens. Let’s just say it is a night Reed, Beth, Tessa, Luke, Ben, and Mia will never forget. I am laughing just thinking about it.
It was nice to see the entire gang again. They all had me laughing until I cried. J. Daniel’s kept me on pins and needles until that very last page. I am soooo ready for the next installment of the Alabama Summers series. #BamaGirl #ILoveReed
