Can a happily ever after really happen?
Or will the unexpected shatter everything around you?

4 out of 5 stars

This started as a 3 star book for me because I felt like everything was predictable and happening way too fast, but I quickly (or maybe not so quickly) learned that everything isn’t as it seems.

I haven’t read a lot of serials because I am impatient and usually want the whole story when I start it -- this is the reason I also don’t read teasers or prologues from upcoming books before the book is released. I just have to have it all.

This serial drew me in with the first one and now I’m completely dying for the 3rd book. When Cam left Shay, he always swore he would come back. Well, this time he didn’t and she was devastated. Though we didn’t know for sure at the end of the last book, this one confirms that he did indeed die while serving and that his whole camp was destroyed. This meant the mafia’s husbands were gone too. The only one to survive was Jacob Clark...the one person Shay never wants to see again.

Ms. Noelle does a great job of building the suspense and creating a story that you can’t wait to see what happens next. I did feel that this one moved a little faster than I thought it would, but I know that women aren’t all the same - and neither are men. Shay is insecure in herself and the only person she ever felt comfortable with was Cam. Since he’s gone she’s shut herself up in her house and doesn't’ go out or let anyone in.

Jacob doesn’t take no for an answer because he promised his best friend, Cam, that if anything ever happened to Cam, Jacob would take care of Shay. He storms into her life and her house and refuses to go anywhere until she gets over her sadness and opens up again. Which is ironic since Jacob is so closed off in the first book.

Their relationship (if that’s what you want to call it) is rocky and definitely not typical, but it is endearing. I definitely agree with the last quote in the book and can’t wait to see where Volume 3 takes us.

About The Author:

I love reading romance books! I feel like being able to lose yourself in a book in one of the more exciting aspects. The books I love to read and write will be ones that make you feel for the characters. You should have an opinion on every character in a book. Whether you love them, hate them, or think they are up to something.

I live in Philadelphia Pennsylvania with my husband, and three kids. On top of starting a writing career I am a full time student, and a full time mom. I love spending time with my kids, although I have to hide the computer from them when I am writing! I love being active and being able to do any activity outdoors.

I have always thought as an author the most important critic is your reader, so I would love to hear from you. If you read the book and loved it or hated it, tell me. As long as it is in a constructive way I will always answer and interact with you. I want fans to feel free to tell me what they want for the characters in the story and what they want to see happen.
