This is the first book in Lani Lynn Vale's new series Hail Raisers. And once again Lani kept me glued to the pages. I completely devoured this book in just a few hours. The characters were raw, real, and had me rooting for them the very moment I was introduced to them. I cannot wait to devour the rest of the books in this series.

Hail No is fresh, suspenseful and kept me wondering who all really were the good guys and bad guys. I absolutely loved how Lani threw in a few twist this I did not really see coming. She always seems to know just how to make me laugh out loud one moment and gasp in the next.

Kenney and Evander are characters that you cannot help but feel for once you get their backstories. They have both had the odds stacked against them in life.  They have guarded their hearts with vise grips and do not want to allow anyone in. The push and pull between Kennedy and Evander were just enough and not over the top.

These two were completely attracted to one another but both wanted to keep the other at arm's length. Not wanting to burden someone with their issues. And boy did they both have some laundry that would run must off. But Kennedy and Evander both knew the other was worth getting to know.

This book also gave us a glimpse at many more characters that I cannot wait to dive into and learn more about in the future. This is yet another promising series from a great author.

If you are looking for a laugh, some suspense, and to totally fall in love with two very original characters this book is for you.

This is a new series for Lani Lynn Vale and I’m so excited to be a part of it! Every series she does has alpha males and more than willing females, but more important than that, it has a great story that will keep you turning the pages. AND my favorite part for all of her books are the chapter lead ins. This time it was this great quote for Chapter 7: 

“I’ve been watching so much porn lately that I spit on my hot dog before I put it in my bun during lunch -- Things not to tell your parents”

BUT for those more interested in the story than the chapter lead ins, it’s a great, great story about insta-love that is denied, but ultimately followed through with. Evander and Kennedy are neighbors though he’s been gone for the last four years and she just moved in 3 and a half years ago. Her life is full of tragedy and his is full of deceit and hate. Though an unlikely pair, they are perfect for each other! And they have more in common than they would think in the beginning and I loved watching them fall in love and commit to each other. 

I can’t wait to really meet more of the Hail Raisers.
