4 ½ out of 5 stars
This is such a sweet story at it’s very base. There are definitely some kleenex moments and even some laugh out loud times, but at the very base it’s just about two best friends.
Jackson and Peyton are two best friends that find their way into your body and soul and make you really examine life and everything that you have. Jackson suffered the tragic loss of his sister and Peyton has found herself pregnant and without the father of the baby. Their quick bond is formed without thought of anything beyond friendship.
Jackson helps Peyton through her pregnancy and is the perfect best friend - brings her the treats she’s craving, lets her sleep when she needs it, and so much more. Without even trying or realizing what she’s doing, Peyton helps Jackson out of his depression that he’s found himself in since his sister passed away.
Both characters grabbed my heartstrings and are refusing to let go. Jackson was the hero that I wanted to wrap in my arms and hold tight. I wanted to help him see that everything was going to be okay. Peyton was the strong female who didn’t need anyone by her side. She was snarky and funny and often times the life of the party. And the way they were together just made the whole book work!
This is just a wonderful story about life and love and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes NA books and is looking for a new story.
