This series keeps surprising me with the twist and turns it takes each month. I must say, I was really curious how Author Audrey Carlan was going to spin the series now that Mia and Wes are an item. Not that I have not been rooting for Mia and Wes to be an item since January!! I have been dying for Mia to give into Wes and his sexy ways.
The beginning of this book with Wes and Mia as a couple was perfect. Wes is becoming a much stronger character in the series and I love how he used his charm to get his way. Poor Mia never stood a chance against Wes, but then again what woman would have really put up a fight with that man. I was drooled like a fool for Wes myself. And told Mia just agree with him.
I will give it up to Mia about wanting to finish what she started though. She needs to know that she can protect her family and not break her promise to him.
This book was a little predictable on how it was going to play out once Mia met Maxwell Cunningham. Mia had a lot to absorb when it finally all came to a head. I do not want to say too much, about what went down and ruin it for others. But I will say that I am curious how Mia will handle the news and process it all in the next few books.
By the end of this book, my heart was breaking for Mia. I hope that all is well with her father. I want to see what he knows about what Mia learned this book. Will he tell her or play innocent.
