I enjoyed this book, but there were times where I felt like there was just too much sex and not enough story. Mark Lyon is a selfish businessman who doesn’t even realize it’s Christmas time. Charity Clarke is a client of Mr Lyon and meets him in person at his annual holiday party.

Their attraction is instant and within two hours of knowing each other, they were hot and heavy in his car on the way to his place. At 16% I was not happy with the amount of adjectives used to describe the activity and felt the entire third chapter was just sex and almost too much information -- you know, we all have that girlfriend that tells us EVERYthing about her hook ups and we could do with just knowing she hooked up.

But the story had great potential. I felt it was rushed sometimes and could have been more developed, but I enjoyed watching Mr Lyon become Mark and really adapt to helping people -- though I must say that I knew this was fiction at it’s best because he instantly went from hating beggars to doing everything he could to help them out.

The little bit of mystery and the way that Mark took care of Charity made my heart happy. I think Ms. Pardo has great potential with this book, but it wasn’t quite a 5 star read for me.
