Wow! This book was one emotional roller coaster ride after another -- it wasn’t a constant ride, but the ups and downs kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. I cried buckets as I read thru Izzy and Conner’s trials and attempts to make the most of their young lives.

Izzy’s twin brother, Ian, was also Conner’s best friend. The three of them had been around each other for the last several years. Ian is tragically killed in an accident just weeks before graduation. This forces some major changes into Izzy’s life - indirectly affecting Conner as well.

I loved the push and pull of this novel. There were times when I just wanted to reach thru the book and hold Conner’s hand as he missed Izzy. I wanted to show Izzy just how great she had it even when she was denying it. I was so, so happy when Izzy finally stopped listening to her head and started feeling with her heart. This one paragraph really made me jump for joy with Izzy:

My heart swells with love for this beautiful man who has been by my side for the worst years of my life. He has been the glue keeping me together and now I want to get strong for him so I can be the woman he deserves.

Conner was so strong - even when he wanted to crumble, he held himself together and pulled Izzy through her troubling times. He was willing to give her whatever she wanted/needed to makes sure she came out of everything for the better. This story is one full of emotions, but one you definitely won’t want to miss!

For me this story of broken dreams was so perfect. The broken dreams became different dreams which seemed to work out just perfectly...even better than the broken dreams could have ever been!

Her yoga pants stop just below the knee and are loose enough I can pull them up pretty far on her thigh. I freeze; it’s the first time since the hospital that I’ve really gotten to look at her wounds.

“Hideous aren’t they?”

“Every mark, every line tells a story about someone you met over there. Each of these is a memory, this isn’t the way you would have wanted to keep them with you but that wasn’t up to you. They are your hero’s mark and you should be proud to show them off.”

I am a born and raised Floridian who loves to travel but never forgets where my roots are. I married my high school sweetheart, have 3 kids and a crazy dog. Travelling and reading are my two favorite hobbies. I love all things Ireland and have been lucky enough to visit twice. I hope to one day watch a Major League Baseball game in every stadium in the country.
