One look, one moment and I was completely defenseless.
One touch, one embrace and I was utterly consumed.
One kiss, one caress and that's all it took.

One look and thirty-four year old Parker Stone knew his life would never be the same. She called to him unlike anything ever had in his life, sparking an unbridled desire and captivating him completely.

One touch and twenty-eight year old Liz Del Rio wasn’t sure she’d be able to walk away. Experiencing a life full of disappointment and heartache, she wasn't looking for a relationship, let alone love and all the risks that came with it. Every time life had taught her the same lesson: not to let people in because they always leave and when they leave, it leaves scars upon your soul.

One kiss sealed their fate and they knew they would never be able to live without one another.

.Liz and Parker embed themselves into each other's world. Passion burns bright and fast, but what happens when your lives are connected in ways you could have never imagined?

Secrets from Liz's past threaten to break not only what they have, but who she is as they learn that once love is etched in stone nothing can make it crumble.

4.5 out of 5 stars!!!

At 70% into the novel, I made a note that I couldn’t imagine how anyone could read this book and not really feel the emotions and connections that are happening. This book was so real for me that I felt like I was right there in the room with them experiencing everything as they did. Ms. Statham did an amazing job of giving me characters that I could easily love and connect with. The characters were all strong and fought for what they wanted. There was a lot of development in the story and every character had a great role to play!

Liz and Parker meet each other several times before they actually go out together. Well, I guess technically it’s more like Parker sees Liz from afar and knows that she’s the one he wants forever and then he slowly works his way up to making sure he gets her.

I want to tell you everything about this story because I absolutely LOVED it, but I have to hold back because there were some twists and turns that surprised me and I don’t want to give too much away. I can tell you that the novel is told from both Liz and Parker’s POVs which I really loved. It was done in such a way that there wasn’t a lot of double telling either. The scene would unfold in one POV and then switch at just the right moment to give you a clear picture of what the other one was thinking. It was really written so well!

Even the friends and family that were just “extras” were important characters and people I totally fell in love with. The story was rich and moved at a great pace, not too fast and not too slow. Though it did happen earlier than it probably would in real life, their first kiss was so magical and special that I have to share it with you:

With confidence and rugged grace, I’m melting into him. My body is moulding into his as his mouth coaxes mine. our lips dancing to the soft beat of a nonexistent melody as my body liquefies under his touch.

Swoon!! Really the way the characters describe their emotions and feelings makes me want to be LIz so that Parker can be mine. They weren’t without troubles and the weren’t without pain, but they survived and that’s what matters! I have notes in the book where I’m questioning things that Parker says like he’s standing right in front of me and I can’t believe he’s acting this way. And I have notes about how much my uterus would explode if I still had one because he has such a powerful way with words and actions like this:

“I’m going to fix this.” He says lifting my chin with his fingers, his lips lightly grazing mine, making the neves on my lips come alive. Leaning in he kisses me. Sweet and soft and then he leaves my place without another word, closing the door behind him.

This scene obviously comes at a troubling time by the whole “fix this” thing, but what you can’t feel and see in this one paragraph is all the hot and spicy kisses they’ve shared in passionate moments making this sweet kiss all the more romantic.

I would encourage anyone looking for a great read to pick up this book. It will leave you with love in your heart and maybe even make you fall in love with more than one guy.
