Deck and Avery meet in the locker room. Deck is a cocky rookie and Avery is a new female reporter. First impressions aren’t the best, but neither is able to forget the other. Fast forward 10 years and they’re forced to work together, but a lot has changed in that time.

I enjoyed this quick read and the way that the author creates such strong emotion in such few pages just makes me amazed! I can’t believe how much I felt while reading. I smiled a lot. I cried a few tears. I reflected a little, too. Life is precious and this book will make you see just how much life you can live when you decided to live it!

I can’t pick a favorite scene because the entire novella made my heart soar. I think Deck might be my favorite Kennedy Ryan character because he has such a big heart! Avery has been through hell, but she finds her strength - and borrows a little from Deck, too - and their story is magical - just like the holidays it’s built around!
