The blurb of this book hooked me. I just had to know what happened to Erin Murphy and the serial murder case she was working on.
Author T.N. Lowe wrote a page turner for sure. I could not put this book down to save my life. I just had to know how the book ended. Would Erin Murphy survive? Would she figure out the case in time? Did she not realize the murderer was closer than she thought?
The mystery and suspense kept me enthralled with the book. The only issue was that I was disappointed that a seasoned FBI agent brushed off text messages the way she did and did not dig into them the way I pictured an agent would. She should have figured out who the D.C. Carver was if she would have listened to her own gut.
Erin Murphy, FBI Agent is let go by the FBI and her entire world crumbles around her. She has only ever wanted to be an agent and does not know how to cope as a civilian. When her best friend FiFi suggest that she apply for a regular police job Erin ends up in Colorado as Lead Detective.
The only issue is the D.C. Carver has followed her to Colorado as well. Erin should have realized that the D.C. Carver knew her personally, but she did not put the pieces together. Erin must solve the case, but it only brought her more drama and family secrets she was not ready for.
There are two more books in this series, I am really hoping that we get more into the back story of the families, the secrets that Erin has been kept in the dark on. The ending left me we high hopes that the web of lies goes deeper and that we get tangled up even more in the next book.
Growing up in a military family, TN Lowe traveled the world - living in the Netherlands, Italy, Missouri, Wyoming, Colorado and Texas. Currently she resides in Texas with her husband of twelve years and their two dogs. TN Lowe used to write short stories while in school, but chose to pursue a career in health care. After receiving her degree and working in her chosen field, her life still felt unfulfilled. Returning to her passion, TN Lowe self-published her first novel Saving Ginny in February 2018.
