He’s wanted her since he repossessed her car and made her cry.
Baylor Hail knew two things. One, he hated crying females. Two, it was even worse when he was the one to make that female cry.
He never meant to do anything but his job, but when one thing leads to another, suddenly all he can think about is the broken woman whose car he towed.
She’s wanted him since he patted her back and told her it was okay to cry even though she knew he was lying.
Nothing ever goes right for Lark.
Not when she got married. Not when she tried to leave her abusive husband, and not when she arrived in a new town with a fresh, clean slate.
That clean slate came courtesy of a secret organization that specializes in helping abused women find a way out. They set her up with a whole new life. It just turns out that it happened to be right smack dab in the middle of another woman’s old one.
That woman also happens to be down on her luck, something that Lark learns the hard way when on her first day there, her car is towed by a handsome stranger.
It’s been two years since she’s felt any kind of sexual attraction toward a man, and she reacts badly. We’re talking full-on, hysterical breakdown as he loads her car onto his tow truck while looking at her like she’s lost it.
Maybe being crazy isn’t all that bad.
The next thing she knows, she’s spending time with the sexy stranger and life couldn’t be better—even though she still doesn’t have a car.
She thinks she’s in the clear, that she’s got it all figured out… well, that is until her ex-husband finds her again.
Now the ball is in her sexy stranger’s court as he decides whether or not her kind of crazy is worth getting killed over.
Turns out, for Baylor Hail, maybe it is.

The Hail Raiser Series just keeps getting better! What the Hail was one Hail of a ride!! The way Lani Lynn Vale has weaved each one of the stories together just blows me away. We get a glimpse of everyone in each one of the books.
By far, I think What the Hail, book 4 in the Hail Raiser series is the best book yet! I absolutely loved Baylor Hail and Lark Lawrence’s story. These two were both broken yet fit together so beautifully. They completed the other in the best of ways. Their love was constant, downright hilarious, and strong even before they realized what had happened.
Lark had been through absolute Hail. She was a loner who would not let anyone in. She needed to protect herself. She wanted to be free even though she always looked over her shoulder. Lark may not have thought she was strong, but she was! I loved her strong resilient character. She fought for what she believed in and never backed down. Even with Baylor, Lark stood her ground.
Baylor had been through his own Hail. He is an ex-special op who is now on leave due to an injury that did not happen in the service. Baylor is lost even though he works with his brother every day.
Only Baylor is a loner like Lark. He did not want nor to need to be around a ton of people. Being the center of attention was not his thing. He did what was needed to keep himself busy. He needed to be active and keep moving.
The way Lani Lynn Vale weaved this two together made my heart happy. The both did subtle things that most would not notice for the other. They were a positive constant for the other. Form the beginning no one better pick on the other.
I must say that the first few scenes Lark and Baylor were together I was in absolute stitches. That man needed to wear a cup and keep his goods far away from Lark. I am still laughing at the scenes. Though I probably shouldn't. They had to have been painful.
The ending of this book was a wild ride full of suspense and chaos, but it left me smiling and hopeful. There are many avenues that Lani Lynn Vale could now spin the remaining books in Hail Raiser Series and I cannot wait to find out how she will spin them.
One-click people. That is all I can say. One-click and fall in love with Lark and Baylor's story.
