Silicone, surgery, and Hollywood starlets.
The land of the stars was beckoning and I answered its call. Now that I was free, well, as free as anyone could be, I decided to pursue something for me. To grab life by the horns and ride that sucker until I found my place within it. That decision brought me back home to Malibu, California, where I awaited the beginning of this next phase in my journey.
The job? Create a segment surrounding Living Beautiful for celebrity doctor and daytime television guru, Dr. Hoffman. The man was known for his cunning wit, good looks, and no nonsense lifestyle.
In a city that was filled with plastic Barbie dolls, and nothing you touched was real, I set out to find beauty. And in doing so, I found a lot more that, for me, for the man I loved, and for the rest of the nation.

What a powerful and heart wrenching installment, it pulled at my heart one minute and the next had me snorting out loud the next. Author Audrey Carlan did a fantastic job at not letting this edition be too heavy and open our eyes to a very real subject.
The growth from both Mia and Wes in this installment was monumental. The love and devotion they both have for one another is beautiful. Even with all the heavy and trauma that has happened to Wes, they both fought for their love and became survivors together.
“Loving you is as natural as breathing. I need you in order to live. You Mia. You give me the breath of life.” ← Weston stole my heart with that little tidbit.
This entire book I wanted to hug the crap out of Wes and just take care of him. Audrey Carlan did a great job with showing his side of the trauma and what he was coping with daily. When he was drowning in his dark place, it was absolutely beautiful to see Mia pull him out of it.
I must say watching Mia get over her green-eyed monster so that Wes could heal was great to read. She has come such a long way in this series. She knows that Wes is her future and nothing will keep them apart now.
And the new spin with Mia working in Hollywood had me snorting. The way she describes Dr. Drew and his clique cracked me up. He was a great edition to the casting. Though there is one part, I wanted to smack his egotistical tush over. My poor Wes!
Plus having Wes teach Mia about his line of work was great. It strengthened their bond when they both needed it.
The ending of this book was great. I just love big bro. Mia never knew just how much she needed him either. I cannot wait for November’s book!
