New author Dillion Kane captivated me from the very first paragraph with the raw fears is lead character portrayed. I just had to know what would happen next as Contessa struggled to survive.
There were a few times in the story I wanted to message Dillion and tell him to stop with the carrots he was leaving throughout the story and just tell me! This story has multiple twists and turns that left my little mind wanting to know more. Deep down I know there is much more to Contessa story.
Dillion also introduced us to a few characters that I feel will have a large part in book two. He gave us just enough to drive us mad. Okay, me mad. I love a good mystery and need to solve as quickly as my little brain can. I wonder if I beg Dillion if he will tell me what’s going to happen next?
When Dixon arrives home and finds Contessa in his house, I was snickering. He could not decide if he wanted to growl at her or make her moan. Poor guy was at a loss. What he did know was that she was scared and needed someone to protect her.
One of my favorite things about this story was being in Dixon Kelly’s head. This man would have me laughing one minute at his one-track mind and then rooting go get’em when someone pushed or upset Contessa. Dixon knows that Contessa has been through hell, but that she also is keeping something from him. Again, I cannot wait to see what book two brings us.
Dixon one sexy cowboy who’s set in his ways. He knows what he wants and has no qualms about getting it. This man would make any woman squirm. He demanded attention. He also had a sweet and tender side to him. I loved how gentle he was when Contessa needed that softer side of him.
Contessa Martin has been through pure hell. She is on the run and does not want her capture to find her. She has the scars to prove that trusting people will get her hurt. Contessa stayed guarded even when she is with Dixon. Letting in Dixon could get her hurt in a completely different way. She knows he will not hurt her physically, but he could hurt her heart and she is not ready for that quite yet.
By the end of this story, I was ready for Dixon to tie Contessa up and demand answers. HEHE. I know he could get them out of her with some good persuasion.
I am hoping that in book two Dillion Kane will give us a little more description as the story unfolds. He writes a fantastic plot that I would love to see go even deeper.
