This story was such a delight to read. I was in a funk and needed to pick me up. The moment I started this book I knew it would revive me! This story started out making me cackle and was an absolute riot until the end. Author Becca Lee filled this story with some of the funniest one-liners I had read. I laughed so hard at some of the names her leading lady Ella called people.

Ella’s life shattered moments before her wedding. Five years later, she has become a recluse when it comes to men. She does not want to be in a relationship nor does she feel she needs one. Her entire world shifts when she plops down in her best friends little brothers lap to escape from a creeper. She has no idea he has had a crush on her for years. Preston plays her boyfriend all the way down to the toe-curling kiss. And boy was it a kiss. Poor Ella did not know what hit her.

Did I mention all this went down at her best friend Jo’s wedding? Talk about having everyone you know see you lay one on a man you’ve known your entire life. I was laughing so hard at both of their nosy parents. Good lord they were going to plan another wedding before poor Ella could say a thing.

Preston has loved Ella since he was fifteen and when she inadvertently lays one on him at the wedding, he realizes he cannot go another day without her. They have been friends forever and he knows she is the one for him. Preston is persistent and waits for just the right moments to push Ella’s buttons. Being a smoking hot firefighter who surfs doesn’t hurt either! Now that Ella sees him in a different light, he uses it. And did he use it! Boy this man knows how to make her drool.

Preston has been Ella's rock the past five years and never knew he was in love with her. He has seen her at her worst and still wants to be the man she falls in love with. This takes Ella some time to process. I mean Preston has tucked her in when she was sloshed and listen to her babbles about her ex. I loved watching Ella try and talk herself out of everything to do with Preston.

Preston knows Ella feels damaged but he fights for her. He lets her come to the realization that he is the man she needs and loves. Ella is stubborn but Preston is sexy and cunning! I was totally chanting for Preston throughout the entire book!

Spending the last few years near the Queensland coast, Becca is rarely out of the sea or off the beach. Dragging her long board with her and her overworked Kindle Fire, Becca enjoys her three addictions: reading, surfing and ogling surfers, one of whom is her husband of ten years.

She can still be found regularly on the beach with her family. Becca tends to leave the surfing to her boys; she's far too busy immersed in her own writing or, of course, with her head still buried in a new read.
