Author Spotlight: November Author Spotlight J. Daniels
I am thrilled Author J. Daniels had the time to answer a few questions this month. I know how crazy busy she is right now with All I Want hitting our Kindles on 11.24.14!!
Can your fans find you at an
upcoming event? If so please provide the details of the event or events.
Yes!
My first signing will be at the San Antonio Author Occasion on February 7th,
2015. I’ll also be attending the Cleveland Author Event on 4/25/15, the Kiss
& Tell Author Event in Hershey, PA on 7/25/15, the Romance Author &
Reader event in Montreal on 9/12/2015, and the Rebels & Readers Author
Event 11/8/2015. I’m spreading myself out so I can hug everyone!
Do you listen to music while you
write? If so, is it different with each book or series?
Not
while I write, no, but I do listen to music while I’m thinking about what I’m
going to write. I’m one of those people who need silence when I’m actually
writing.
What is your favorite book right
now?
Oh
wow. That’s tough. I’m going to go with one of my favorite, most re-read
series, Sinner On Tour by Olivia Cunning.
What was your inspiration that
started your writing career?
I just couldn’t get this story out of my head,
so I tried to make something of it. Sassy baker, hot accountant, gay assistant.
I just started writing.
What book influenced you the
most growing up?
I
loved Little Women. I think I read that book practically every day.
Name someone other than a family
who has been a huge supporter during your writing career.
R.J.
Lewis
How did you become interested in
writing this genre?
I love to read it. It’s my favorite genre.
What is one question you have
always wanted to be asked during an interview but never have been.
What
character out of all my characters can I relate to the most?
What is your writing style? Do
you outline or just write it as it comes to you and let the story unfold as you
write?
I never outline. I tried once, and failed
miserably. I just write as it comes to me.
How has becoming an author
changed you?
I don’t think I’ve changed at all, but my life
has changed. I was able to give up one of my part time jobs to focus more on my
writing. That made me insanely happy.
Where did the idea of your
current book come from?
REED!
He’s my sweet man-whore from the Alabama Summer series. I needed to give him a
book. That boy needs love.
Is it hard for you to decide
what the titles of your books will be?
Sometimes.
The Sweet series books came pretty easy, but the Alabama Summer series took a
bit longer.
Tell me about your book.
But
it’s a secret… ((J. Daniels is going to drive me to begging.))
Did the idea behind this book
hit you in the middle of the night or while driving your car?
I
get most of my ideas while driving, or while daydreaming while I’m supposed to
be doing something productive.
A
new series maybe.
When can I start stalking you
for details on your next book release?
You
can stalk me anytime, Sarah.
Can you give me a little
something from your next writing project to tease your fans with?
Reed only wants sex.
Meaningless, sometimes nameless, sex. He’s had his heart ripped out of his
chest, and he doesn’t want to feel that way again. Then along comes…
Who designed your cover?
Ari
from Cover it Designs. She has done all my covers.
Is it hard for you to decide on
the cover?
YES.
