Every day, my neighbor tells me to have a good morning.
Every day, I tell him to f*ck off.
Kyle Lane is the town’s hottest cop.
He’s also the man I’ve despised since high school.
Each morning, he stands on his porch with an annoying smirk on his
perfect face.
He’s made it his life’s mission to get under my skin.
Until one day, he’s no longer on his porch but on mine.
He claims he wants to redeem himself for ruining my reputation.
My instincts tell me to stay away, but with each morning he shows up,
it becomes harder and harder to resist his charm.
I was never supposed to fall in love with my neighbor and once he finds
out my secret, we’ll forever be enemies.
4 out of 5 stars
This is a first for me by this author, but I enjoyed it. The characters were well thought out and likable. The setting was realistic, but not overdone. The drama was handled well - in other words, it didn’t feel like a high school sitcom.
Kyle and Chloe were both fighting back their feelings for a good portion of the book and I liked how some things were instant and some took time. I liked how the characters had flaws and that those flaws made my heart ache for them and their happiness. The “extras” in the book also came to mean a lot to me as the reader as well.
There were pages in the book where I was so sad that I could hardly see the words through my tears. There were pages where I was so happy I could hardly see the words through my tears. In other words, the book covered the gamut of my emotions...in the best of ways!
I enjoyed this story. Since it was the first for me in the series, a few times I felt like I was missing out having not read the others. This is one of the reasons why I went with 4 instead of 5 stars. Overall the characters were great and the storyline was intriguing. Kyle proved just how great he was and Chloe learned that everything isn’t black and white.
