A Little Too Late by Staci Hart

Publishing Date: October 24th, 2017

Genre: Contemporary Romance

I wasn't supposed to fall in love with the nanny.
When my wife left, she took the illusion of happiness with her, and I've been caught in a free fall ever since. For nine long months, I've been fighting to figure out how to be a single dad, how to be alone.
For nine long months, I've been failing.
When Hannah walked through the door, I took my first breath since I'd found myself on my own. She slipped into our lives effortlessly, showing me what I've been missing all these years. Because Hannah made me smile when I thought I'd packed the notion of happiness away with my wedding album.
She was only supposed to be the nanny, but she's so much more.
The day my wife left should have been the worst day of my life, but it wasn't. It was when Hannah walked away, taking my heart with her.

The moment I read the blurb I knew I had to read this book. It pulled me in and I just had to know what happened. This book teetered between forbidden romance and a second chance love story.

This story was a sweet love story that blossomed from heartache and loss. It did not have that slow burn that drove you mad. It was more of a finding yourself and your best friend kind of book. A realization that life offered you so much more if you just opened your eyes.

Charlie Parker is a workaholic who's wife walked out on him and his two small children. She just vanished as if Charlie and the kids never meant anything to her. He was lost on how to be a parent when Hannah walked into his life. His beautiful Dutch girl who saved his family and life. Their first meeting is hilarious and realistic.

Hannah came to America as an au pair. She is from Holland and followed her friend to America to travel and see what life was like there. She is full of life and has a magical way with children. She instantly falls for little Sammy and Maven. Two of the sweetest kids that just needed to be loved.

There is some drama in the middle of this book that leads us up to the best part of the book. The last 20% of this book was my favorite. The ending was absolutely perfect. Charlie realized what love truly was and what he needed to do in life.  Hannah found the love she thought she would never find.

It is hard not to go into detail about the last 20% and not give away too much of the plot. So, I will just tell you it is worth the read. You will cry, smile, and swoon all at the same time. This book definitely worth the read. You need to see how Charlie and Hannah's love story unfolds.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics. AuthorPics
