I enjoyed Rekindled, but must say that Ablaze with Dane & Lexi really was just a touch better! Dane seemed like such an ass in most of Rekindled, but I knew he had it in him to be a good guy. I wanted to see that side and we totally did in this book.
Lexi wasn’t weak and I enjoyed her as the heroine. I like how she didn’t take any crap from Dane and gave him plenty instead.
I liked that their relationship was almost instantaneous. I think in their careers they would understand how much life is precious and they wouldn’t want to wait for what they knew they wanted. I enjoyed watching them come to love each other and the chemistry they had together.
This series is great because it isn’t just romance, she has that suspense constantly going in the background of the books. In the first one it seemed almost too obvious who it was going to be, but this time I was totally shocked by the outcome. The one thing I didn’t like in the end was that they didn’t find the body...what does that mean for future stories? I don’t know.
I look forward to reading more from this author!

Jax & Skye are the perfectly reunited - though never really together before - couple!!
Jax is a firefighter in Dallas and responds to a call at a local hotel. He pulls out a good samaritan and finds her to be his best friend’s sister who he hasn’t seen in many years. Skye recently returned to Dallas, but hasn’t told anyone yet because she was hoping to settle in before confronting her brother.
I liked this story and I liked their banter. It was great to see the relationship grow and change - and the rapid nature of it was so believable due to their past and the years and years they knew each other previously.
One of my favorite quotes came at the end of an argument between Skye and her brother, dane. She was telling him off, but I’m not sure she meant to say it quite like this:
“And let’s get something else straight. When Jax and I sleep together, it sure as hell won’t be any of your damn business!”
There was just enough suspense to keep you reading and the story unfolded well. I am eager to read Dane’s story and can’t wait dive in.
