I absolutely loved Dax & Beck in On Solid Ground and it seems that it’s been forever waiting on this book to come out. This couple stole my heart and their little girl Violet is the cutest thing ever! Tragedy and heartache only made them stronger, but life still isn’t all roses for this couple, but Melissa pulled me in from the very beginning with a strong opener including this quote which knocked my socks off:

“Because you’re my home. My forever. I’ve never been more solidified in my life than right here, right now with you and our sugar pop.”

I enjoyed watching this story unfold and the guys finding their feet with each other and as a couple. At the beginning of the story, they are engaged to be married, but neither is forcing the idea of setting a date for the wedding. One because he doesn’t want to upset the balance and the other because he’s scared it will all end and that he can’t ever really be wanted when he’s so broken.

This story is about so much more than just Dax, Beck & Violet though. This story is about their family -- big, small, blood-related, and friends who are like family. This story has highs and lows, but Melissa writes M/M romances so well that it’s hard to put it down once you start. I couldn’t imagine the direction the story went here and there, but I am so glad I was lucky enough to read it.
