Release Day Blitz & Review::: Until I'm Yours by Kennedy Ryan

by - 7:23 AM

Mean girl. Goddess. Bitch. Supermodel Sofie Baston has earned those labels . . . yet they don't scratch the surface of who she really is. Before she can follow her own dreams, Sophie must do her daughterly duty and reel in a "fish" for her father's business-a tall, brown-eyed entrepreneur who immediately hooks her. He's a big guy with an even bigger heart . . . but will that heart be open to Sofie once her darkest secret is revealed?

To Trevor Bishop, Sofie is a beautiful mystery he would gladly spend his life solving. He figures her tough demeanor is armor against a world that's hurt her too many times. Then Sofie's deepest wounds are reopened by the powerful, ruthless man who made them. When she musters the courage to take him down, her world shatters. Now Trevor is determined to help Sofie pick up the pieces so they can build a future together. The challenge will be convincing his ice princess that it's safe to melt in his arms .

4 out of 5 stars

Sofie and Trevor are two characters who really resonated with me. They aren’t perfect and they don't even try to pretend they are...well, OK, Sofie does, but that’s her job. Sofie isn’t the strongest heroine I’ve ever read, but I so love that she doesn’t just sit and sulk about her issues. She faces them head on and finally relents to allow Trevor to help her attack those demons. Trevor is so almost perfect. I loved him and the way he supports and loves her. I love that he makes her wait. I love that he’s strong and shows Sofie how strong she is, too.

This book definitely isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There are characters I loved -- and having not read the rest of the series, I’m not sure how others feel, but Kerris is so sweet and I wanted everything to be okay for her. Trevor’s business partner and friend, Harold, is sort of a mystery, but there are times when you know he’s 100% behind Trevor in all aspects. Sofie’s best friend, Stil, is so great!

Then there are the characters I didn’t love - in fact, I would say I hated them. Don’t even get me started on Sofie’s parents...UGH! And the men from Sofie’s past. There were a lot of characters in this book, but it was so easy to follow and I so enjoyed getting to know all of them.

And let’s not forget this book is about a relationship...They seem to have an instant connection, but Trevor fights Sofie’s instincts to just have a one night stand and forces her to take it slow. BUT once they start it’s HOT. Sofie’s thoughts on their first kiss sum up their relationship perfectly...addictive!

Like that first hit of cocaine, heady and entering your bloodstream with claws that sink in and steal all control before you know you’re addicted. This first kiss is that addictive.

I now have another series to catch up on thanks to Ms Ryan and her addictive writing style. This was my first in the Bennett Series, but I had no trouble at all following the story. And part of me is happy knowing how Sofie’s life turns out knowing she plays a big role in the other books as well.
