I loved this book because it was it was so heartwarming and made love feel so real! Dakota has put her life on hold when her family suffered a huge tragedy. Shawn’s life has been threatened to the point he’s going into hiding to get away from the stalker and give him a chance to unwind a little. Both characters end up in accounting school though neither of them really wants to be there.

I think the best part of this book was that their connection was so instant and they both fell so hard before either of them would admit it. This is the first book for me by this author, but I can promise it won’t be my last. The characters were crafted so well that I felt like I knew them. Like I was watching their lives rather than just reading about them. The story flowed seamlessly and I enjoyed every page!

One of my favorite scenes was when Dakota and her friends are bagging on Shawn right to his face without really knowing it’s him. Such a great comic relief moment in a book with some definite heavy themes.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a story with some angst, but that is really just about love at the heart of the novel!

I shriek the minute we step foot in the penthouse when he sweeps my feet out from under me, tossing me over his shoulder. “What are you doing, you crazy ass?!” I laugh, beating my fists against his back as he strides with purpose through the living area. “Be quiet, woman,” he jokes, slapping my butt. “Trust me, you won’t be complaining in a few minutes.” And he’s right. He strips my clothes off, tantalizingly slowly, before pushing me back on the bed and devouring every part of me with his mouth.
