Sean is a man with needs—needs that a lot of women were ready and willing to fulfill. Yet, the only woman that he wants to fulfill them dumped him for another man. A man who’s a member of his MC and is someone he has to see every single day and twice on Sundays.
He’s bitter and angry. He’s definitely not in the right frame of mind when it comes to dealing with women. Which is unfortunate for his new partner, Naomi, a fresh-out-of-school and totally green paramedic.
---
Naomi’s got enough problems on her plate. A brother who’s self-destructive and doesn’t care who he takes down with him. A man who she’s in love with but who doesn’t love her. A job that she hates because it is a constant reminder of what she can’t have.
Desperate to distance herself from her problems, she runs, taking the first job in her field that she finds willing to take on someone with so little experience.
The last thing she needs is a perpetually pissed off partner, especially when he sets her blood on fire.
But life doesn’t ask how much you can handle when it dishes out challenges. It just keeps piling them on until you’ve bested them or you’ve buckled under them.
---
Sean really doesn’t want to like his new partner, Naomi. He just wants to be left alone to live his life however he damn well pleases and without complications.
Naomi doesn’t care what he wants, she can’t be anything but herself. It isn’t long before she’s breaking down his walls and making him feel again. She’s trying to pull him closer and he’s pushing her away.
It’s not long before Sean sees the error of his ways.
It’s too bad, though, that by the time he realizes she’s the one, Naomi’s already gone.

5 of 5 Hearts
This is hands down my favorite book Lani Lynn Vale has written! I absolutely loved every moment of this book. It was one of the funniest books I have read, it had just enough drama to drive one to flip the pages, and was filled with love and devotion that one can only hope to find.

When this book started out Sean was scorned by the woman he wanted to love him back and Naomi starting over after a terrible accident. They both thought love was not an option like they had always wanted.

The moment these two met I was in stitches. They have some of the best chemistry I have ever read, it was raw, gritty, and they knew just how to drive the other nuts in the absolute best of ways.

"My mouth twitched. “I like you,” I blurted. His eyes took in my face. My eyes. My hair that was still in a mess at the top of my head, and grinned. “That’s fuckin’ awesome, because I like you, too."

Naomi is self-conscious ever since her surgery but Sean does see her any different than anyone else in his life. He is himself with her no matter what. THIS right here is what sucked me in hook, line, and sinker. His tenderness with her even when he really did not think he was being sweet turned me to mush.

“I want you to like me. I want you to want me. I want you to swear to me that you’ll never hurt me."

As always, the supporting cast is just spot on in this series. I loved catching up and learning more about The Dixie Wardens Rejects. So much suspense and drama that keeps you on your toes.

This story left me needing more of these two! And dying to know what will happen next. We have some plots going on that I cannot wait to get answers to in this series. I also will be saying a little prayer we get a glimpse into Sean and Naomi's life in future books. Such a perfect couple!

4 1/2 out of 5 stars

I enjoyed this story more than the last in the series. Sean and Naomi start as partners on the ambulance and both have horrible histories with the opposite sex. Naomi is also struggling with embarrassment about a medical condition so she doesn’t know how or why Sean would ever find her attractive.

The slow burn leading to the relationship was fun to read and watch develop. I enjoyed Sean’s alpha-maleness and Naomi’s desire to be more. I cried with them and celebrated with them, too. I love the MC family in this series and only wish I had a group of people who were so dedicated to being there for each other.

And, let me just say that I am even more excited for Ghost’s story than ever before after a few scenes in this one where he was trying to find himself again.

*** I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.
